Tour playing – play touring

We are pleased to invite you to visit Poznan in a completely different way. Not during trip and not with use of bulky guide books. All we give you is a single sheet of paper with map, a few useful tips and we propose you an adventure with a bit of mistery. Mystery to which key come in blurred inscriptions, hidden sculptures and architectonic details which cannot be beholded during casual city touring.

Some can probably associate our enterprise with “The Da Vinci Code” book – and there might be point in it, but we assure you that to uncover this mystery there is no need of having specialistic cryptographic knowlege or to be Professor of Art History with uniquely fertile imagination and tendency to misinterpretation. It’s the participation in our game which will allow you not only to get to know Poznan but also gain new knowledge from variety of domains!

The play is constructed as a Street Game. The board is the city – it’s streets, squares, parks and alleys. Players have to move very confidently in order to win the competition between them as well as between the other teams ( because there is a possibility to play with other groups). Every person who finishes one of the games can be signed on a honour list of Street Game winners.

Our team is organizing also Street Games – once only cultural - educational events in which city becomes board game. Street Games are brand new type of entertainment which joint features of computer games, RPG type of games and street happenings. The team gramiejska.pl led by Szymon Dąbrowski since almost three years is turning Poznan into board game, and is organizing events which gathers those who want experience adventure in our city.

Street Games are made up with two parts: internet phase and street phase.
Internet phase is nothing but introduction participants into climate of incoming Game. During this part of amusement teams are familiarizing themselves with historical materials, game’s plot and solve the first riddles. As an effect of passing internet phase, teams usually receive information about the place where street phase has to start. This virtual part of game is prepared in such way that anyone could pass it. There is no need of being history expert to accomplish tasks within game. All that is needed is willingness, and this part becomes the beginning of the new adventures!

Street phase however is a few hours play which is based upon historical monuments of our city, as well as more or less fictional characters who could be met in the backstreet of Poznan in those times. The teams start the Game in the place which is pointed out by the Organizers. Cards for Game, useful tips and all needed materials are given to players who set off to crack the mystery.
Street phase is simply an extraordinary stroll through the city which resemble entering in different dimension or time machine flight. The team which first accomplish the tasks – win. However every team is experiencing the same – extraordinary adventure.
These types of games are prepared in Polish language, but we are open to proposal to prepare events in different languages.
